About your Instructor

My name is Vassili, and I’ve been in the diving industry since 2009, exploring and working in a wide range of underwater environments around the world. I earned my first professional certification with PADI in Koh Tao, Thailand in 2015, and have since worked and represented both PADI and SSI as a Divemaster and Instructor in different parts of the world.

Over the years, I met many capable divers who were technically trained and properly certified — yet something was holding them back. Some had experienced a difficult dive that stayed with them. Others had quiet fears about depth, darkness, equipment, or simply losing control. Many questioned themselves privately, even though nothing was “wrong” with their skill level. I began to realise that while dive agencies do an excellent job teaching technique and safety, the psychological side of diving was rarely addressed in a structured way.

Alongside my diving career, I studied human performance and behaviour. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Sports & Exercise Science, specialising in sport psychology. Before fully dedicating myself to diving, I competed as a professional athlete, where I experienced first-hand how fear and pressure affect breathing, perception, and decision-making. When I started teaching diving, I recognised the same patterns underwater. The environment may be different, but the nervous system responds in predictable ways.

That connection became the foundation of this course. I wanted to bridge the gap between technical certification and psychological readiness — to help divers understand what happens internally when anxiety rises, and how to regulate it calmly and effectively. My goal isn’t to eliminate fear, but to help divers interpret it correctly, respond with composure, and enjoy diving safely and confidently.

I now reside in Greece and continue to combine my experience in diving and psychology to support divers who want more than just certification — they want calm, clarity, and control underwater.
